Pumpkin Carving

Halloween brings out the Scary in all of us

Look how cute she is!!!

I know we are adults but that doesn't stop us from enjoying the Halloween season with a pumpkin decorating night. Traditions never die and we have done this for many years creating some of the best and worst that this holiday has to offer. Every year we keep our design a secret and then when we are done we let everyone guess as to what it is. This is just setting us up for disappointment when no one has any idea and you have to break down and say, “You know it is a _____”. Then to be nice everyone says, “Oh of course I see it now that is awesome”. Pumpkin carving is a fun activity for all ages and they do not have to match the ones on Food Network’s Halloween Wars or be a master carver to enjoy the moment.

This year we grew our own pumpkins and had a very nice harvest in which to choose from.

It was a great harvest. This is just a small sample of our pretty pumpkins.

Planning is most of the fun, and it is important to let your creative side shine.
But remember it is just fun and no one is judging at least I hope not.

So the one on the right is a face with a scar behind the ear and the one on the left is a frog. I am sure you all could see this without the explanation (wink, wink)

Here is a better look at the "frog"

The finished products may or may not be worthy of a master but we had fun and that is what counts.

By the way, a few of our party got lazy and decided to carve their pumpkins using a drill and a drill bit. I posted a video below.
